I am thinking of getting some houseplants for low light some for my bathroom (no direct light). Would ferns be a good choice? If so which ones?
There is the old faithful Aspidistra and you could consider many of the cactus and succulent family.
I grow an Aloe plant in my bathroom I find it is well suited to the condensation caused by running hot water.
I have used Chlorophytum ( The Spider Plant) as well.
TeeGee beat me to it. Aspidistras positively dislike good light, the leaves lose their colour in sunlight, so they are great for low light. A spider plant will live anywhere but they get very big and dangly very quickly. And remember how dusty and fluffy a bathroom gets, I don't know if a hart's tongue fern would grow indoors but the other sorts will look dingy in no time. Aspidistra every time!
I loved my Aspidistra and had a lovely one with cream flashes on leaves. Would recommend Aspidistra, great plants
