I thought I didn't like heather but our in bloom group voted to have a heather roundabout and we all pitched in to make it using a design one of our members had put together.  It looks fab.  Well it did til a car ran over it and dragged up the membrane and about 150 plants with it  >:(   We've replanted it though and it looks great.  I'll have to get a photo and post it.  Very proud of it as we are all amateurs  :)

I like Heather. Our Heather garden looks a treat all through Winter as we chose winter flowering types for it.

How very beautiful Heldi!!!

Gorgeous rich colour !  I think heathers need peat in order to grow well.
:D

Hi !

I took this pic because this particular heather sits in a little pot lighting up a very gloomy corner. It is a little treasure.  I have about six heathers in my front garden and I grow fonder of them every year as they set the garden alight with colour when little else is happening. Pinks, purples, white and a little number with orangey gold foliage.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pic of your roundabout Wardy.

My heather in a pot sits in ericaceous soil but the ones out front sit in a clay soil which I've enriched with stacks of horse manure.

Heathers are fab, you've just got to look at them,I mean really look, then you will know.

It is a great colour isn't it,particularly as its against a darker green foliage. It makes it almost shocking in its gloomy corner of my deck.

I was very taken with a garden I saw recently in a dirty traffic infested street,it was aglow with a patchwork of heathers and really brightened the spirits.
