Could it be a Vapourer Moth caterpillar, also known as Rusty Tussock moth, Orgyia antiqua?

If so it's a goodie. Or at least not one that causes serious damage. The article suggests one of it's host plants as Rubus - hence the one seen one your raspberries. :happy7:
It's beautiful, whatever it is and definitely not for squishing or spraying. Hope Ed's id is right.

It does look very much like the picture in Ed's link, so not one to be squished.
