Going to "Homebase" I found a lot of veg starting to be discounted. Shops are now trying to get rid of Spring/Summer garden stock. However this seemed to extend to fruit trees as well.
The best time to plant fruit trees is in the dormant season Nov - Feb but this is mostly the Xmas season for shops. Perhaps I can pick up some bargains on fruit bushes and trees and plant them later ?
I assume the fruit trees are growing in pots / containers. They can be planted at any time really . However they must be kept well watered until established.
The big question is are they really cheap compared to bare root prices that are available during the winter.
Also are they healthy.
Yes if they look good, are the right price and as Daveyboi says they need to look healthy.
I bought some blueberry bushes from B&Q last month, I think £2 each for decent size plants with some fruit on. They also had some nice looking apple trees on sale too, just I didn't have anywhere ready for them or I would have bought them as well.
