Title: Strange Raspberry performance......
Post by: tim on August 07, 2015, 15:07:39
Early and mid season plants - fair fruiting on last year's canes - now we have two lots of new growth, 6 feet and 3 feet, very healthy - shorter canes are giving good clusters of plump fruit.

I have never in 55 years had this happen before.

Any ideas??

I wonder whether the plants are getting confused by the cold nights/early mornings we have been having.  I have some summer early fruiting varieties which decided to crop on the new grown last year.

You are higher up than me, so even colder.  It has been down to 3 or 4 degrees here a couple of times.

Good thinking. I wonder if they would fruit again next year. Not that I will keep then - there are too many full sized ones.
