i think my parsnips are doing ok after a slow start
They are well ahead of mine!
and mine, but I have 3 sowings coming on nicely...
They are looking good.
My first sowing had good germination, except for the free seeds Duchess F1 (only two germinated), but perhaps they were from last year. Second sowing are tiny still but again germination was good, which is much of the battle!
Mmmm roast parsnips :blob7:
Mine are about the same stage and if the roots are as good as the leaves it should be a good crop. I started mine with the fiddly tissue paper method, but am pleased with the results.
I ran out of time and planted parsnip plants rather than seeds. I know lazy. Had the crowbar and made nice cones filled with sieved compost. However the crop has been decimated by starlings who pull everything up and then discard it. Have about 50% of my crop left and they seem to be doing okay. But as we know we won't know until we harvest them what is below the soil. Take care all. It's a jungle out there.
