Title: Aduki Beans
Post by: bluecar on May 13, 2015, 12:57:32
Hello all.

I've been given some aduki beans. The lady that gave them to me said they could be picked as pods and eaten whole like french beans or the beans could be kept and then eaten. All the recipes would appear to use the actual beans rather than the growing pod. Does anyone cook the pods and what sort of length should they be removed for cooking whole?

Regards

Bluecar

I tried growing some one year, but didn't do very well, they needed too long a season and I didn't get going soon enough. You will have to experiment and let us know. I should think they would be good to sample when the pods are young and the beans haven't started to swell. If they are tasty and not too stringy try them again when the pods are a bit fuller. Good luck  :happy7:

Thanks Jayb.

I guess I had better start them off now.
