I am very new to allotments - getting my first allotment this year. :D I want to try out companion planting. I have heard that nasturtiums and french marigolds are good ... and to plant garlic / onions close to carrots and parsnips. Anyone have any other tips ;)
dill which seems to be hated by most plants goes well with cabbage (and in pickling, too ;))
i read garlic does well with and for beans (but not onions)
savory with beans as well
basil and tomatoes enhances the flavour
that's kind of as far as i got.
will also have some marigolds and nasturtiums - for the bugs and for the flowers (i hope) :)

I copied the info from a Bob Flowerdew book and put it into a spreadsheet. If you drop me an email (as I don't your yours) then I could email it back
I also got a lovely companion planting chart from the Organic Gardening Catalogue but it's a bit hard to read without a strong pair of specs :) I'm going to hang it on the wall of my shed (when OH gets round to putting it up)
Thanks Wardy ;)
Have changed my profile - so you can read my email. Would be fab to have your spreadsheet.
:D
I've sent it :)
Thanks - can get planning some extra companions now :)
