Title: Strange Red Cabbage
Post by: George the Pigman on February 11, 2015, 23:00:22
Last year I grew a breed of red cabbage called Kalibos. It never produced a ball head and the loose leaves were variegated green and red. Anyone seen this before?

Cabbages are very promiscuous.  Presume it just has a rogue gene in there.  Perhaps just a stray pollinator.

I have some interesting crosses between red Russian kale and mustard.  Or just maybe a rogue seed.  I sowed some kale a couple of years ago and ended up with some great cauliflowers.

When "true" it produces a pointed head like a greyhound but much larger.
