Title: Half of Tim's bit
Post by: tim on October 13, 2003, 12:05:41
I just HAVE to try this - 'cos I do believe I've cracked it.

After 3 long hours. If it works, I'll post the other half. - Tim

Not the same photo - but a replacement -

You cracked it good Tim. Bad thing is, you put us all to shame with that perfect veggie plot of yours. Fantastic is the only word I can find for it.
I never even tried to get my pictures on like you did, how do you do something like that? Seems like you have to have a web site no?
Thanks so much for going through all that trouble so we can see your wonderful pictures, I'm waiting for more. -Ina

Title: Re: Half of Tim's bit - the other half
Post by: tim on October 13, 2003, 16:14:40
so, lost it - start again! If I can remember it all.

It's not always like that. And didn't mean to depress - and here is the proof, to encourage. !959, and 12 months later. Sorry about the copies of copies.

Greenhouse - normally toms, cus and peppers. this year, risked aubs instead of peppers, and got away with controllable bugs. So, 30 toms, 12 aubs and 8 cus.  Only the toms are still giving us a bit. Oh, and one grotty chilli! Normally get 1-200 per plant - this year, 12?

Plan - you have to be joking? Yes, I try not to follow like with like. Apart from that, it goes in where it's dug. And salads inevitably hog the close-to-path areas.

Web site? I sought help on Garden Web but found it too assumptive of one's capability. Will try to give a pointer elsewhere, but there are many others far more capable than I. - Tim

Here's a replacement photo - of half the other half - till that disappears too!!

Tim,

Hope you don't mind - I've edited your posts to bring the pictures into the thread.

It's quite easy to do, you just have to surround the address - thats the http:// bit - with (//).

If you click to modify the posts you will see how it's done.

Cheers

Dan

thanks Dan, couldn't figure it - and didn't want to break the spell by attempting too much! You don't mind cluttering your board with my efforts?

I really think you ought to tell how - I just happened on the HP site because I have an HP PSC. And folk presumably know that they need a scanner or card reader?

While we're here, is there a quicker way of doing italics than deleting 4 times, then 3?

Keep watching!! - Tim

Oh Tim!  I could cry  :'(, with joy tho  ;D.  What a wonderful plot - and big tooooo!  I want one I want one!  Do you spend every single waking hour there?  It really is wonderful, you must be chuffed!  I must must must take my camera to the plottie to take some shots - not that there is much to show other than a sea of lovely dug earth.

Only in the growing season - I'm out at 5 or 6 in the morning. Not so enthusiastic in the snow! And don't get me wrong, Emma - you can tell by the g'house vents that the pics were summer ones. We too have much dug-over soil now.

Yes, Teresa - one bit is either side of the house and a 50'X50' lawn - which also needs work! But clever? - no way - just dogged devotion to duty!  When not in the Army, my father was a market gardener. - Tim

Tim, I hope you don't mind me trying to put my picture of a zucchini here. Since you are helping me to figure out how to put a picture on this page, I thought I'd try it right here. -Ina

I'm reeeeelly sorry about that, Ina - thought I'd given you a foolproof path. Did you appear to get all the signposts?

Try again on mail to me. When I first failed. I had just missed out the colon.

And Dan - when do you add the brackets? And should they go blue like the URL?

For Teresa - forgot to add that we did have 2 allotments up the lane as well,  but I was only home 2 days a week for 14 years, so it all got a bit too much! - Tim

Hi Tim. I have no trouble now to send a link to my picture in share to web to anyone but it won't work to send it to open straight onto this page. That's still a mystery, see my earlier attempt. -Ina

me neither - but you don't have to have them viewed 'as an album' either - my first ones were full page ones on a separate page, with no text, until Dan incorporated them. Can't wait !! - Tim
