Title: Bolting sweetcorn everywhere
Post by: earlypea on July 07, 2014, 14:43:02
First I saw mine had gone - it's Painted Mountain and only a couple of feet tall and I wondered what I'd done, but then as I moved around the plots I saw nearly all of other peoples' had decided to flower and tassel at the exact same time, whatever the stage of development.

Do you think it was the sudden drop in temperature from high twenties to 18 or so?  Do they think it's Autumn?

Did anyone else have the same thing happen?

Interesting......

Dont frett.. They will grow taller at the same time as the tassels are growing. Now that the summer is here they will grow quickly..

Painted Mountain started to tassel, what seemed really early here too, some would have only been a couple of feet high. But Gavin is right they grow very quickly though they are never going to be very tall as they are quite a short variety anyway. Hope they do well as the colours are amazing!
