I listened to Raymond Blanc once talking on telly about our not eating all our veggie plants. He referred to broad bean tops and radish pods and said they were a gourmet delicacy. In France apparently they eat the broad bean tops when they remove them to get to them before the blackfly
I have also heard about the radish tops from The Allotment DVD that a radish can be left to go to seed and it will produce edible seed pods which are said to be good in salads and stir fries (variety Munchen Bier)
I grew Munchen Bier one year, I thought they were disgusting.
I suppose you'll eat anything if you're hungry enough . . .
We've eaten broad bean tops before. stirfry til their soggy and serve with loads of oliveoil and lemon juice - very Greek.
We grew ratstail raddish last year and it was wierd, any one else doen those?
We too eat Broad Bean tops, lovely!
Glad for the feedback on the Munchen bier radish. Ta :)
And to think that the 'special offer' lunch is only £65!! Including the radish??
ooooooooooooo never had broadbean tops....will be doing so this year!
