I found a beautiful feather by the gate to the lottie, brown with white spots down each side. Never seen anything like it before. Exquisite. Any ideas please of which bird.
Knowing the size might help....
Maybe an owl, or duck or something like a bird of prey? They are often mottled for camouflage.
Any chance of a picture?
A Red Kite perhaps!
Difficult without pictures - but I often find pheasant feathers that fit that description down by our allotment.
Went down to the plot and think I heard it.
I think this is it

Had pheasants before, they seem to like wherever I sow parsnips so I never get them in straight rows. They are more mottled. It is the regularity of this which is so striking.
Best not mention Red Kite it will get me going. :BangHead:
We sometimes find woodpecker feathers here, your right they are exquisite :happy7:
My guess would be pheasant, but a pic would help.
