Title: Apple tree problem
Post by: The Amateurs on June 29, 2014, 20:10:00
Hi we have a 3 year old apple tree which is in it's second year of fruiting, I have noticed that the leaves have multiple brown spots on and the fruit is covered in brown blotches, I've tried to upload a picture but it won't let me, does anyone have any possible suggestions on what might be causing the problem and more importantly anything I can do to cure it ?
Thanks

Sounds like Apple Scab. Spray with a copper sulphate fungicide.

Yes, sounds like scab. Removing leaf litter from under the tree during winter will help to reduce reinfection next year. Open pruning with its associated ventilation may also be some benefit.
