Title: Camera with viewfinder
Post by: bluecar on June 23, 2014, 15:52:14
Hello all.

I'm lucky enough to be on holiday in the South France, however I've become exasperated with my Panasonic Lumix screen reflecting a view of me rather than the picture I was hoping to take. It would seem that I need to replace this with a camera with an electronic viewfinder (evf). After a bit of research the Fuji S8200 seems to fit the bill although one review isn't too impressed with the evf.

I just wondered whether any of you had experience of this camera or a happy to comment on other models that you are using?

I look forward to your comments.

Regards

Bluecar

I've recently bought a Nikon Coolpix L820,  after using an Olympus which had come to the end of its life.  I'm very happy with the new Nikon- gives me good clear pictures and easy to use.

I have a lumix and really miss the view finder which I had on my Fuji, but they no longer have view finders,  I find not having the camera against my face I shake it round and find it difficult to compose the picture at arms length.

I will be very interested to hear what you choose and how you get on.

I found this link interesting

I am thinking about this one

But so far put off because my current lumix is very poor on purples which come out blue.  I find flowers in particular are not the right colour.  It is very difficult to get it to focus on the flower you end with a leaf or something else perfectly in focus.

Thanks Yorkshire Lass.

The Nikon Coolpix L820 does not seem to have an evf or have I got that wrong? If it doesn't have you experienced any problems in bright sunshine?

Wow Digeroo.

That looks the bees knees! I wasn't planning to spend as much as that although you seem to have found an excellent price for it.

Thank you both for your advice.

The $ price for the lumix is much less, so I hope that perhaps the price will come down.  There are some cheaper deals but they involve cash back which is such a faff to claim.

Having a wiewfinder is so useful. Takes bl**dy pics. as well!!
