I'm getting a good crop but would do even better if I could keep slugs off even though I've got a good helping of straw to keep the fruit off the ground. I've heard about using crushed egg shells and pine needles as a protective barrier. Interested to know if anyone has a good method.
Thanks for all the responses
I have put a ring of manure around mine, the slugs seem to prefer the manure to the strawberries, but it is keeping them relatively whole. I put it on the paths to keep down the weeds and the lack of slugs in the middle seems to be a bonus.
