I have a mature jasminium officinale growing up an obelisk. Or was! The obelisk got trashed in the storms and the plant is holding the obelisk up rather than the other way around! I have got a replacement obelisk, but the jasmine needs cutting back quite hard to remove the old support. I am not sure when best to do this. I am in a mild area but as we could still get cold weather I am wary of cutting back too soon. Don't really want to lose the plant.
Guidance needed please. Can I get on and do it or should I wait. The plant is showing signs of new shoots.

you dont say if its winter or summer flowering, but they are both best pruned right after flowering and they can be cut back hard within 2ft of the ground and should come back with lots of new growth.
Jasminium officinale is the technically hardy summer flowering one. Nudiflorum is the yellow winter flowerer. That much I do know.
Grew quite a few when I was living in warmer climes.
I would prune now, as high as you can, then maybe protect with bubble wrap till it really warms up.
