Title: Online Allotment Planner
Post by: Spookyville on March 03, 2014, 13:20:57
Not sure if this should be placed here or in the Computer forum (but I guess more people will see it here and it is relevant to growing rather than a Computer problem)

Anyone else use this on-line program? http://gardenplanner.dtbrownseeds.co.uk/default.aspx Thats the link to the DT Brown version but I believe others do their own version but its essentially the same software.
I signed up at the end of last year after the trial period as I can see its potential. Early days yet with it but  started to play around with it properly now and managed to get my plot paln created and although not pin accurate its a very good representation of it. Can be viewed here : http://gardenplanner.dtbrownseeds.co.uk/garden-plan.aspx?p=446572

Same here - I love my IT.

However I am so bad at planning and keeping records that I gave up with this sort of thing and just go by eye and thumb now.  Mind you if I had a bigger plot I would need to get more organised!

Gavin, take heart I use a pencil as well. I find a HB best, it rubs out easily.

Being a Techno Phobi person, I came to the conclusion that with computers, plug at one end, fool at the other, me !

Age or no age, if it works us it.

Digmore.

Me too Gavin, though it all gets transferred to an Excel spreadsheet in the end. Given that I change my mind 100 times before breakfast, the pencil and paper work really well for me!

yes, I use it and am in my second year. It is fab,  I did use pen and paper but love the pictorial aspect and all the drawing gadgets as well as the info, like how many to plant in my raised bed areas. Well worth the 2 year sub and I will re-join next year without a doubt

I've used it before and found it great, helpful to see what crops go/went where at a glance. Didn't keep up with it though.
