Title: HSL choices?
Post by: Jayb on February 12, 2014, 16:09:58
Just received my choices today  :icon_cheers: I was a bit late sending my selection in and I'm really pleased I was sent all first choices  :happy7:

These are what I got;
Bangladeshi Lablab beans, these are white flowered, I've only grown the pink ones.
Syrian Black broad beans, seeds are small more pea size!
Williams Tiger climbing French bean
Poletschka climbing French bean, really looking forward to growing these http://www.adaptiveseeds.com/product/pole-dry-bean-poletschka-organic
John's Purple carrot,
Afghan Purple carrot. I've not grown either of these carrot varieties before and have a few other black and purple varieties to try, hopefully pick out the best to keep for seed next year.
Lucky dip Magpie dwarf beans beans

Brings summer a step closer, though I'm not sure if my plot will be workable for quite a while!
Hope everyone got their choices

Jayb, your choices sound very interesting indeed...I hope they do well.
My brain haven't been in 'gear' for some time (for one reason or other) and I forgot to pay my HSL membership in time...so no seeds for me this year  :BangHead: Oh well...I think I 'survive'.. :tongue3:

There is still time to pay this year and get some choices.  Says so on their website, the cut off date is 3rd March.

I also choose Poletschka bean and afgan carrots.  My ancestors came from Somerset so I choose the Somerset broadbean.  I have assumed that is where my green fingers came from.  Maybe they were bred for soggy conditions.  Also chose some peas.

Me too!, but like Digeroo says, still time if you want them  :happy7: On the other hand there is a nice little envelope full of seeds sitting here just waiting for a few more seeds before getting sent to you  :icon_cheers:

Well..I think I'll get to it again later on the year...I suspect I will have more than I can cope with to grow anyway.

'nice little envelope'...?!...only a little one? :tongue3: Circle's 'envelopes' can't be exactly be called 'little' :icon_cheers:

Thank you Digeroo for looking after me by checking the 'time table'.

Actually it was rather a coincidence because the newletter came from Garden Organic into my email inbox and I read it minutes before I read your post.

Seemed a good time to put in a plug for the HSL.
