Darn it - I'm stuck at work :(
Roll on the weekend!! 8)
Essex is tropical! Todays planting, another 3 rows of spuds, 3 different varities of peas, row red spring onions (thanks Di :-*), row of looseleaf lettuce 'flame' (thanks Tim :-*). This afternoon I will be cutting the lawn. God it feels good to be alive! ;D
It's raining, windy and cold here oop t'north >:( I've been out stretching me back (ouch) as I'm getting really down moping about not doing things. I went to the shops and came back with some lovely recyclable's. See pics in recyclables bit (not sure where it is)
Glad to hear it's balmy weather elsewhere ;D
Raining and overcast in Oxford >:( >:(
QuoteRoll on the weekend!! 8)
Hear hear
Beautiful weather in Brussels too (for a change), but alas stuck at work as well :'( :'(
Counting down the minutes to get back home and do some sowing before it gets too dark. Fingers crossed that the weekend stays like this... 8)
Here in N. Yorks it's GREY. But warmish. 3 pre-school kids too contend with so no sowing fun for me.
Although I did notice yhis morning that my sweet corn is germinating so I'm not sulking (too much)...
Bicester is wet n miserable
You have corn on the go already! I shall wait and get mine going in April I think....by then I should have some room!
the suns not out here absolutely hammering down in Bristol and windy as hell dont even wont to go out in my green house where its so windy
Wet, windy and miserable as sin here in North Wales... you know the kind of rain...lazy ...wont go around you, goes right through you. :( Where is this heatwave we are supposed to be having. Suppose it stopped at the Watford Gap as usual. Roll on spring. :-\
Balmy weather, it was 0°C (32°F) in the night of Monday and 9.6°C (49°C) in the night of Tuesday and at the moment it is 12°C (54°C) and been raining, so I decided to go buy some compost sand and grit in readiness for the weekend heatwave 8)
Warm and raining in Cambridge!
Drizzle in kent at the mo
It's been snowing all last night and all day here in Sweden. I have cleared the drive once today but it's getting heavier - the flakes are the size of tennis balls!
I was back home in England last week and now am really longing after Springtime.
Glad I cut the grass, it has just started to rain, but is still warm and balmy. Hope it is dry tomorrow, back up to the allotment to get some more spuds in!
Damp but mild here in Coventry
Have got sunburnt in sunny Essex. Spent the day from 9.00am - 4.30pm rotivating 2 of our three allotments. Some areas have permanent crops in and there are some broad beans and purple sprouting in another part of the allotments.
I'm sure I will ache tomorrow . Due to do some sowing parsnips, peas and potatoes if I can manage it. 19oC in London today which is approximately 30 Miles from here. 8)
;D ;D ;D
FANTASTIC
THE SUNÂ 8)
THE WEEKEND
THE LOTTIE
Its the best time of the year  ;D
I spent lunchtime in a sunny pub garden with my OH! Now thats a good way to spend a lunch hour! ;D (Have to say everyone else was inside in the gloom, I never understand that!)
Had a barbeque prepared for the evening, and it of course rained, but we were not deterred and the food was great!
well its still raining in south wales >:( no idea when i'm going to get out to plant the spuds and now i've picked up a 'tummy bug' from a patient at work and am off sick . :( Great.
Doesn't matter about the weather in the sky in Leeds. :) Council have cut the grass on the football pitches beside the site, so tomorrow it's picking up piles of the stuff tolay in my potato trenches! :)
All best - Gavin
Gavin The council would probably deliver ;D
All right then. Praps not ;D
What an absolutely GORGEOUS day! Spent all morning on the plot, and if it wasn't for the fact that there isn't an awful lot growing, I could have thought it were July, walked to get daughter from school and then both of them have spent all afternoon playing in the garden! I even sat out there on the bench watching the little planes flying to Southend in the sun! This weather can stay please!
Great day, spent all morning at the allotment, managed to plant onion sets and sow some carrots. Spent afternoon playing in the garden and went to collect our beef order from the farmer, decided best way to cook the steak was on a bbq so had our first bbq of the season!
I dunno about spring but summer poked it’s head into my plot yesterday with a whopping 20°C (68°F) It was the first time I got that gut feeling that I am really going to enjoy this new venture into lottieland. I dug over three small beds the first a little daunting as it was a bit wet and sticky, so I followed Moggle’s advice in an earlier thread and added plenty of organic compost and sand, (thanks Moggle).
After that it was plain sailing, as the ground was reasonably dry and broke down quite easily, the old back stood up well too, thanks to the red wine. 8)

What a great plot, Roy. That is what allotments have over us - openness.
Thick fog here this am.
Your plot looks great Roy. I am off to mine now to admire the chickweed and sort out another planing plan.
I've got a plot and a half that I try to manage with my sister and it is nowhere near as clear as yours.
:D :D
Great plot roy. Sun out in Leeds
EEEE iTS GRAND UP NORTH!
It's misty here in Bath but looks promising for later on today.
We'll be mostly digging out couch grass roots today !
Well laid out plot Roy.
The Sun's out here in Dundee ;D
Tropical in Essex! Kids played out in swim suits, lunch in the garden, greenhouse wide open. Devine!
Misty this morning but terribly warm this afternoon!
Spent half the afternoon in a very nice pub drinking red wine and eating gorgeous olives.
Trying to think of what to grow for the table as never done it before. Still not decided !
Now where's that glass of mine !? :P ;D
Roy, just seen your photos. Your plot is coming along nicely and looks quite different from your first photos. :)
Thank you all for the encouraging comments, ;) I have had a few nice comments from neighbouring allotmenteers too, but feel I am paying too much attention to looks rather than productivity ::) as I haven't planted much as yet and then I think hang on, ::) I'm doing this for pleasure and blooming well enjoying too. ;D
Wait till the palm trees arrive :o 8)
Wonderful pics of your plot Roy. Â You look well organised.
Fantastic day in Whitley Bay. Â Had to wear my sunglasses and even put on some sunblock would you believe. Â My face starting to go pink. Â It did feel so great to be alive today. Lottie life on a day like today is so brilliant. Â ;D busy_lizzie Â
What uplifting posts from everyone today. The sun's out and everyone is rejuventated
I'm not mobile yet and everything seems to be passing me by and it gets very depressing that all the jobs on my plot which need to be done, eg planting spuds etc are not getting done :(
I shall have a go tomorrow to get some manure under the sheet mulch and get a few spuds chucked under it.
If I can't do much on the lotty I'll sow more seeds ;D

How sad ...your back is no better then ??? I would let fellow lottie-folk know of your predicament, they may show some chivalry ??? ;)
Thanks Roy I think I'm going to ask my lottie mate Geoffers to help me. He has four allotments already but he'll give me a hand. If I can't do anything else I'd like to get some sheet mulch down so the weeds don't take over while I'm laid up.
I've got my new seedhouse to play with (have you seen my pics in growing under glass)? I'll sow all this produce and then not be able to plant it. Ah well I can sell it at our Spring plant fayre in May ;D
Going back to chiro tomorrow morning so fingers crossed :)
All the best for your recovery!
Good luck Wardy ;)
At last the sunshine has reached North Wales ;D ;D ;D. Sun out.... We are out... Bar-B-Q is out and so are the steaks ;D ;D and to top it off I have a day off too.
Haven't seen the sun once this weekend in Lincoln. :(
It's been cold and damp today - just like being beside the sea when you can feel the damp in the air. (Derbyshire that is)
Same in Leicestershire....dry but cloudy.. a wet misty morning but it didn't stop the action...Rotovators buzzing away all over the place
Derek

Brand spanking new Val only got the keys in December ;D I've been itching to get back up there but the blooming rain won't go away >:(
