Post by: lady_bug on November 28, 2013, 12:15:10
To plant bare root raspberry canes?

My mum bought us some from an offer she saw in a magazine, I'm all for planting them now they have been delivered but my partner isn't sure about planting them as its too cold.. So now I'm not sure what to do for the best..

Now is the time to get bare root plants into the soil. I'm expecting a delivery of new raspberry plants on Monday and they will be planted during the week. The nurseries deliver them between November and March so there must be a reason for that!

We have planted 80 bare root strawberry plants in the past few weeks and they are doing well.
I have read that these plants need the cold to prepare them for fruiting next year.

Lady bug as Tricia says plant them now, which is the recommended time.
