Title: mini onions from seed
Post by: manicscousers on November 24, 2013, 07:31:39
We left some of the onions to go to seed for the group to grow next year and some of the seeds have developed into little  onions . We've planted them up, they're excited to see how they grow. Has anyone done this, how successful is it, I don't want them to be disappointed  :toothy10:

Bulbils; they don't often grow as big as the seeds but it's fun watching...try not to let them get too wet or mouldy over the winter as that's what tends to kill them.

Thanks, aj. I'll keep them away from the watering cans, they tend to kill everything by overwatering   :toothy10:They're in the cold greenhouse. I watered the soil when I planted them but only damp. I'll lay off now  :happy7:
