I have noticed that several people are able to insert pic gifs into their posts. For example there are two in The Shed in the thread wishing Rosebud and Earlybird a Happy Birthday. This is the link I was trying to use. http://www.picgifs.com/graphics/happy-birthday/graphics-happy-birthday-501480-851874/
I didn't download the picgif but tried to add it myself and copied the link into my post, but no card showed up. I wonder whether I should have included something else? I tried pressing the "ftp" button and then inserting the link but nothing happened. Should I have used the "hyperlink" button instead? What are these buttons for please and what does "ftp" stand for?
I probably should have downloaded the image on to my computer but then how would I get it from there on to here please?
Your help in this matter is much appreciated.
Right, on the Website copy and paste the thing called BB code
Voila (http://www.picgifs.com/graphics/h/happy-birthday/graphics-happy-birthday-501480.gif) (http://www.picgifs.com/graphics/)
BB code: (forum, guestbook or profile).
(http://www.picgifs.com/graphics/h/happy-birthday/graphics-happy-birthday-501480.gif) (http://www.picgifs.com/graphics/)
It worked! Thank you so much Palustris.
Is there a way of making it bigger please?
No, the size is fixed by the original Web site.
You can re-size an image
The normal BB code of
[img]http://www.picgifs.com/graphics/h/happy-birthday/graphics-happy-birthday-501480.gif[/img]
will produce:
If you add a height paramater like this
[img height=300]http://www.picgifs.com/graphics/h/happy-birthday/graphics-happy-birthday-501480.gif[/img]
Then you will get:
Although, gif's are best viewed at their original size.
If you add both height and width options you can make a real mess....

I'll try that then Chrispy. Thanks.
