Title: Nano Fagioli beans?
Post by: Jayb on October 22, 2013, 11:22:04
I received some beans in a swap, possibly a couple of years ago labelled  Nano Fagioli, don't know who they were from, brown dinner money packet with red writting. The seeds are white and look like a cannelloni type, I grew them this year and they produced a good crop of tasty shelly beans. I'm saving some for dried and I'll keep some for seed. Question is what does Nano Fagioli mean, is it a name or does it just mean bush bean and the rest of the name was left off?

You see it on Franchi's seeds packets:

Fagiolo Nano = Dwarf french bean
Fagiolo Rampicante = Climbers

Then underneath, something about the variety.

So yes, you are probably right, it just means dwarf french bean and it's the 1st line copied from the packet.

Thanks Ellen K, I thought that might be the it. Shame I don't have the name as they are a lovely bean, they'll have to remain a mystery.
