Title: Sante Potatoes
Post by: steve1967 on October 13, 2013, 08:27:36
Hi All

Has anyone tried Sante potatoes this year. Despite the very dry summer the slugs had a great time on the Maris Piper I had sown. I have read that Sante have a good resistance to slugs so would be interested if any of you have found this to be the case.

My Kestral were fine but I like to try different varieties each year.

Thanks
Steve

I tried them last year and was disappointed with the yield.  Maybe it was down to all the bad weather but results put me off and I did not bother again this year.

I grew Sante for the first time this year and will be growing them next year. The best of all the varieties that I grew this year. Good taste, large tubers and plenty of them and no slug damage. I lifted them in the last week of September. I did not have any major slug problems on the potatoes this year :happy7: unlike my red cabbage. :BangHead:
