Title: Competition for 2014,maybe
Post by: Jeannine on October 05, 2013, 03:28:15
Sitting here thinking about ideas, we could repeat the tomato one, the potato one seems to be going strong so how about a squash one..not a big  pumpkin though as there is a lot of those around, just a fun thing, lets not take ourselves too seriously..maybe just an extension of what most of us grow anyway.

Ideas.
Biggest Butternut
Biggest Blue squash
Longest Trombicino
Biggest any variety ??
Longest banana squash.

Any or all of the above plus ideas from you all.

Come on now it is nearly winter and we have to plan something, this gives us lots of time to swap seeds too if need be.

I once saw a class for the best matched pair of squash at a country fair, now that is not easy.

Ideas please

Well I have about 50 butternut squash, growing from 6 or 7 plants, I think.  And they are very big this year, don't know why.  They were very late in starting due to our cold and wet weather until  the end of June.  So I could manage a  'big' one, and probably a 'best matched pair"!

Why wait?

Not sure I want to repeat it but I certainly have a contender for largest butternut 2013.

Nice to  have 6-7 per plants for some reason mind are only managing 2.

Perhaps the longest long white, I have a huge one. :BangHead:
