Title: Just a quickie re board censoring....
Post by: SamLouise on September 25, 2013, 23:19:08
.... I can't remember how to turn off the censor/filter when I read posts or PMs.  Can somebody please remind me?  I've looked through my settings but I don't know if I'm just being daft but I can't seem to find where to change it.  I don't even know how it changed back in the first place because I used to have it turned off and now it's back on!  :BangHead:

Anyway, any help appreciated, thanks  :happy7:

In this version of SMF the admin has to enable the ability of users to turn it on or off..
It should be here - Profile ---> Look and Layout Preferences ---> Leave words uncensored but it isn't so I guess Dan has not enabled it..

I think it is something to do with what theme is used as the option to allow users to censor or not is contained within the theme rather than a central admin thing...

In short we need Dan to implement!

There also used to be the ability to block certain people posts.  Cannot find that either.

I never did it, but some chose to get rid of posts by certain individuals.  However at the moment there seems to be good screening by the mods.

To be honest we don't do much actual modding of posts - we just don't need to!
Mostly we just zap the odd spammer that gets through and move posts or delete duplicates..

You can still "ignore" users -  Profile ---> Modify Profile ---> Buddies/Ignore List ---> Edit Ignore List
