Title: Chives
Post by: Mrs Ava on March 14, 2005, 13:02:07
Thanks to the romping white rot on the plot, I grow my chives in a dinky pot on the deck at home.  Always handy to snip through new potatoes and sprinkly over egg mayo, but only when daughter number one is at school.

Chives are forever. Looking good, can smell 'em from here. The chives, that is not the feet.

I only discovered chives with spud this year, after my mint keeled over. Hoping my little pot of them will re-sprout soon  :) Have seeds from a swap too, if it doesn't  :)

Of course, Emma - must do that this year. But it'll mean an awful lot of pots!!

What are these nasty little green bits, Mummy??

Later - OMG, that'll mean for Spring Onions as well!! Thanks for reminding me. Just sowed my first.

MMMMMMMM gorgeous with butter and new potatoes.. and butter and jacket potatoes......mixed in with mashed potatoes and swede  :P love chives.  I have just split some of mine to give to my daughter who loves them almost as much as I do.

These were sown last year so are still only small.  Planning to do another pot full as I am planning to plant some in the garden as they are so pretty, and so tasty!
