Just got back from checking on my 1st ever show attempt.
Out of 5 entries of pickles and chutnies, I got two seconds and two thirds, quite chuffed!!
Woohoo! Well done!
Congratulations! Hope you didn't upset any old hands! :toothy10:
Well done you. It's a little scary the first time isn't it? good fun though, although some of the gentlemen in our association have obviously had an allotment for years and take it VERY seriously.
Yes, it's a bit nervey first time. I'm a bit miffed that the pickled onions that beat me into 2nd place had a supermarket branded lid, which is against RHS rules. Still there's always next year!

Suspicious!!!! Congratulations to you too!
Well done, not only for having a go, but also for getting placed, so here's to next year.
I really wish more growers would have a go, not only to keep these shows alive and kicking but also to give us growing folk a goal in the seasons apart from putting in the pot or filling the freezer :blob7:

Well, today was the Spring Show, so I entered again. 4 entries and the result was.......
1st for Root vegetable Chutney, 4th for Parsnip Apple and Ginger Chutney
1st for Seville Orange & Blueberry with Orange Liqueur Marmalade
2nd for Rhubarb and Strawberry Jam.
Must try harder, 4t is just not good enough.
Congratulations! :icon_cheers:
