I have not used my flamegun for several years but tried to do so today. Unfortunately it will not 'pressurise' when pumped. I checked the pump rod and it seems fine. Any help in identifying the problem would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
Has the washer on the end of the pump rod perished?
Hi Fork
It looks fine as does the washer on the filler cap but I guess I should replace both and see what happens. Thanks.
I used to sell those 40 odd years ago. I believe at that time they had leather cup washers which could be revived by soaking overnight in 3in 1 oil. I note that subsequently they went to flat rubberoid washers like these.

Anyone got a seviceable model to sell cheaply ...P M please with price/location. x300 or 500 with trolley?
It's always worth greasing the washer with anything like that.

Was the control value closed and the filler cap screwed in tight? It's possible the pump was working and the pressure gauge is stuck - does fuel come out when you open the control valve?
Another thought, if you get pressure:
