Hi Grace, welcome to the site. I don't know the area, but your best bet is to contact your local council and ask the question, alternatively, if you know of a local site, pop in and ask any plotholder! Hope you find one soon and then come back here for any further advice.

The allotments club's site looks a bit out of date because they described two of the sites as still being managed by the town counicl, whereas the town council say (http://www.weston-super-maretowncouncil.gov.uk/community/services/allotments.aspx) they are all five now managed by the club since 2011.

The town council appears still to set the rents which they publish as:

Charges from 1st April 2012
£1.00 per metre for a WsM Resident
£2.00 per metre Non WsM Resident

though without knowing the width that's not a very helpful way of pricing because it's the price per area that you really want to know.  Assuming a reasonably typical plot width of 8m that makes the rate £3.13 per pole which is fairly good.

This news article (http://www.thewestonmercury.co.uk/news/more_allotments_for_portishead_1_336867) says there may also be a private allotment site in Portishead if that's any help to you.

Hi Gracerose welcome. We have 2 small plots on Rectors Way aka Clarks field .
This years rent was £1 per metre, it appears it is measured linear and not square. We pay £26 for one and £28 for the other. Where were you hoping to get a plot ? Our waiting lists are years long. If you want to know more, as I know the website is way out of date, pm me. I know a couple of guys on the committee who would give far more info.
