Title: Look at this Aloe Vera!
Post by: Squash64 on July 22, 2013, 07:10:50

One of our plot holders asked me if I would like their Aloe Vera plant
to sell at the Summer Fayre.  They said it needed dividing because it
was a bit big.  Bit of an understatement!

There must be ten tightly squashed plants in there!

Our aloe vera is going mad too!  If I don't get round to repotting up some of the little ones, it will split the pot, as it has done before.
A friend suggested potting up the little ones and then offering them on Freecycle, as apparently they would go very quickly.  Haven't got a system like that down here, so I can't do that.  I give lots away though.

Cut some leaves of and strip out the gel from inside, good for stings, sunburn, rashes etc. Lovely for cracked heels when you put some in your socks. I've even got some frozen in the freezer for rubbing my brow on a hot day. Very cooling.

This looks like a very useful plant to have!

Might just get a piece from one I spotted recently
