Title: Crystal lemon cukes
Post by: lottie lou on July 17, 2013, 21:59:55
My one and only cuke has two fruits on it and a fair number of flowers.  The plant seemed to perk up after I removed the foliage and flowers from first 18 inches but since then not done a lot.  My question is do you grow them like melons and remove the growing tip as suggested by Tee Gee or not.  At what size fruit do you harvest?

I have grown these for the past four years and I have say that I do nothing to mine. I let them scramble. I get a good crop too. I feed with tomato food and keep them well watered. I have grown them both outdoors and in the greenhouse. I prefer to grow these outside. I pick mine when they are about the size of a large..ish kiwi fruit. I find that if you let them grow larger you will get a larger mass of seeds inside.
