Title: Something to think about
Post by: Tee Gee on July 10, 2013, 17:31:41
Will someone please tell me what the Hell is wrong with all the people that are running UK,

Both the TORIES & LIBERALS,and & LABOUR before them!!!

Tell us;

We're BROKE
And, we can't help our own:
Pensioners,
Orphans,
Homeless,
etc.!!!

Then how is it?

In the past years we have provided direct cash aid to:
Haiti - £1.4 Billion,
Iraq - £1.08 Billion,
Pakistan - £2 Billion,
Libya - £1.45 Billion,
Hamas - £351 Million,
Egypt - £397 Million,
Russia - £380 Million,
Jordan - £463 Million,
Kenya - £816 Million,
Sudan - £870 Million,
Nigeria - £456 Million,
Uganda - £451 Million,
Congo - £359 Million,
Ethiopia - £981 Million,
South Africa - £566 Million,
Senegal - £698 Million,
Mozambique - £404 Million,
Zambia - £331 Million,
Kazakhstan - £304 Million,
Tanzania – £554 Million.

We give literally Billions ££'s yet most of the recipients still despise <HATE> us!!!

Then, on top of that £53 million A DAY to the EU

Pensioners living on a 'fixed income'...

Do they get any breaks??

While our Government and Religious Organizations keep pouring Hundreds of Billions ££'s and tons of food, into Foreign Countries!!!

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for,the adoption of, Foreign orphans.

UK:Homeless go without shelter,
Children go to bed hungry,
Elderly go without needed medication and
Mentally ill go neglected, without treatment, etc.

But, YET:

We still allow illegal immigrants and other free-loaders into UK shores

While we are lining up with food, clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

If "OUR" Government gave "OUR PEOPLE" the same support they give to other countries we wouldn't be in the situation we are in!

That's my rant over for today;

Over to you

One problem with your list, let me demonstrate by doing a copy/paste from a different web site.....

Whether a Democrat or Republican, maybe the time has come for us to stop trying to fool one another. Both parties claim that America is broke. We can no longer take care of our seniors, veterans, orphans, the homeless, or the mentally ill.

How can this be true, when we can afford to pay out in cash, aid to the following foreign entities:

Hamas – $351 Million,
Libya $1.45 Billion,
Egypt – $397 Million,
Mexico – $622 Million,
Russia – $380 Million,
Haiti – $1.4 Billion,
Jordan – $463 Million,
Kenya – $816 Million,
Sudan – $870 Million,
Nigeria – $456 Million,
Uganda – $451 Million,
Congo – $359 Million,
Ethiopia – $981 Million,
Pakistan – $2 Billion,
South Africa – $566 Million,
Senegal – $698 Million,
Mozambique – $404 Million,
Zambia – $331 Million,
Kazakhstan – $304 Million,
Iraq – $1.08 Billion, and
Tanzania – $554 Million

In spite of this, these people hold the United States in utter disdain. The concept that these people deserve so much of our monetary resources at the expense of our own people here at home is nothing less than incredibly absurd.

Why is it easier to adopt a baby from China, than one here in the USA? How are the starving children in Ethiopia more precious than our own? Why do hundreds of homeless people freeze to death in America's winters? Why do we consign the mentally ill to roam the streets, digging in trash cans for food?

Charity begins at home. This is not rocket science.

and now they're cutting the fire service. :BangHead:
Whether the figures quoted are accurate or not the fact is we do seem to support some countries who have their own wealthy. The fact that they don't "share" with their own folk.... :BangHead:

Good evening all,
this was mentioned on FB a few times this morning and seemed appropriate:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/british-public-wrong-about-nearly-everything-survey-shows-8697821.html
but the gist of it was that political interests (of many shades) enjoy playing with various statistics for their own ends to polarise opinion (or to sensationalise, as it says in the link) but without acquainting us fully with the bigger picture.
In these difficult times, that bigger picture is the one we need!
End of rant on MY part!

Tee Gee, I am always ranting on about the different goverments we have just giving our money away when our seniors have to decide if they should eat or heat & family`s having to go to food banks for Gods sake when does all this giving away to other countrys stop & we start looking after OUR OWN
Some patients cannot afford cancer drugs, but they  give away money that needs pouring into the NHS.
I agree with everything you say.

I have read the article in the link SueK published;

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/british-public-wrong-about-nearly-everything-survey-shows-8697821.html

Perhaps I don't have all the facts, but like all 'statistics' these are facts and figures that are often manipulated to get a certain point over as the article intimated!

Perhaps the figures I published are a bit OTT  relative to the Independent's findings.

But I have always believed;

" there is no smoke without fire"

So until someone comes up with the true figures I will continue to believe as I do!

Sorry for ranting on again!

Those people here are vulnerable and don't have a voice. If you want to do something about it - do something, don't just rant, get involved.

Giving foreign aid doesn't mean someone else goes without. Get rid of HS2 - that's £35-70billion saved depending on whose figures you take and who the hell wants to spend that just to shave a few minutes off a journey? At the lowest estimate that's triple the foreign aid budget.

As to the recipients not appreciating it - how the hell would you know? Are you suddenly spokesperson for billions of people? I've been to some of those projects and know for a fact that you are wrong.

If you are too lazy to research your own figures, no wonder your opinions are out of whack.
