Title: Monarch butterfly
Post by: hippydave on July 07, 2013, 19:24:31
spotted these two mating today they were flying round the garden landing and taking off again then settled on my conifer tree for about 30mins before flying off, quite rare migrants from America so didnt expect to see a mating pair. they were very large about a 4" wingspan.

I didn't realise Monarchs even visited these shores! What wonderful pictures, I shall look out for them myself, though not even seen the usuals this year yet. Thanks for posting.
