Has anyone heard of a squash or pumpkin known as Makomani? I have 2 colleagues (1 South African & the other Zimbabwean) go all dewy eyed over it.
I've "googled" to no avail so I think this is a very local name unless they have the spelling way off. From their description, it is like a gem squash.
One of them has given me a few seeds so I'm trying to nuture them. They look like pumpkin or squash seeds, perhaps longer & thinner & a darkish brown in colour.
I'd love to find out the real name.
Sounds fascinating. Do post and tell us how they turn out.
The gem squash sounds interesting too.
