Title: cloches
Post by: captainhastings on June 13, 2013, 21:45:12
Now we have had our heat wave and summer is over :) what plants would benefit from being covered with a cloche. I cant access the site at short notice so unless I trust the weather forecast I would need to maybe leave an end open so I didn't cook things if there was hot day and I couldn't get on site.
I have cabbages, brocolli and swedes sown from seed a couple of weeks ago also squash and courgettes would any of these benefit from a cloche.
My plastic from ebay has a arrived and I have some hazel sticks so I can knock a few up if needs be

Looking at your list I would say they only ones would be 'squashes' and even here I wouldn't bother!

Definately no need to bother now, they wont mind the bit of rain for the next few days!

I still have my squashes under cloches.

I should have thought the brassicas would hate it.  They seem to like being under curtain nets.
