Friend has this flower, comes up every year but we do not know what it is,
any idea's, thanks

I believe it's Meconopsis Himalayan Blue Poppy. You are lucky to have it. I have tried for years to grow  it from seed without success.

Seeds are extremely difficult. The best bet is to plant your own, or scrounge some from someone here, straight from the plant. Then plant in batches - maybe some straight off, some to overwinter out of doors and stratify, some in spring, and see what happens. Store the seeds in the freezer, otherwise they won't keep.

How wonderful. I managed to germinate seeds, once, but lost the resultant plants and never succeeded again. Good luck!

I just lost a pot full of seedlings myself. They're vulnerable when they're small, and they weren't growing in the cold weather. Never mind, I've still got a few seeds in the freezer for next year.
