After four months of lots of rain, certainly every other day, then May with rain every day, and this week with heavy to torrential continuous rain day and night, we have had enough! I had been fairly hopeful that some veg would survive, now I'm not so sure! Thought I'd share some wet photos from this morning with you.

Rain is still forecast for two more days, but hey, the sun might come back next week.
And even the nearest ski station is opening tomorrow, 1st June, exceptionally for the weekend, cos there is so much new snow.
We're coming back to England for some sunshine soon!
A downpour too many more like! So sorry to see these pictures Peanuts, fingers crossed it dries out fast and you won't lose plants. The parsnip bed looks particularly sorry.
oh dear Peanut what a shame! They are predicting a fine week for us in the west, maybe you will get the same?
Oh gosh..that doesn't look promising. I do feel sorry for your and your plants. Hmm..looks like good spot for some rice :drunken_smilie:
How was your crops last year?
We're absolutely not complaining or miserable. We had a reasonably good year last year, compared to everyone in UK. It is the farmers/market gardeners etc who are really struggling now. Yes, it is our food, and our pleasure, but there is always something else to find and eat. For them it is their livelihood.
Oh dear, hope the sun comes out soon for you. Some of the tomatoes may pull through if the water clears fairly quickly, I had some last season that were similarly flooded several times, they came on in the end. Yours looks such a lovely veg plot, just need the weather to play fair.
Oh dear that does looks very depressing you must be gutted. Can you replant a few things in pots?
We had a lot of rain over the summer and winter and the seat beside the lake near our allotments is still in the middle of the water. Though this is better than when it was right up to the sitting level. Water table very high here. But luckily no surface water.
Lets hope things dry out quickly for you but your weather forecast looks a bit iffy. I am not clear what is going on with the weather, we are currently on 21C while you seem to be on only 14. And while we are looking forward to a lovely day tomorrow, looks like you are in for some more rain. I will be thinking of you.
The jet stream is going right along the middle of the Mediterranean.
My plot looks like that at times, but it's longer-term waterlogging in very wet spells which does the real damage. Flash flooding hits it every couple of years, and only does limited harm. My solution is raised beds, but I'm regretting it right now sonce I overdid it yesterday, dumping the contents of my compost bins into the latest bed.
I've gone out and bought some more tomatoes to replace my own ones, plus replacements for my own cucumbers and courgettes - and I think of that as supporting the growers of these too, who are having a really hard time.
My peas look as if their tips are just rotting, also the sweet peas, but I suspect they'll recover when it warms up. Other things we'll keep our fingers crossed. and hey, I've just noticed some real artichokes appearing on our three plants, last year's seedlings and the first ones I've ever grown - getting excited!
How are things going? Are things beginning to dry out? Not sure you have seen the last of the rain.

Today we have had wall to wall sunshine - can't believe it. no rain for two days now! Our lake has gone, and the veg patch is just sodden. I managed with some difficulty to plant out all my sweet corn today, not the best of soil condition, but I can't wait any longer. I've replace some tomatoes. Amazingly at least 3/4 of the parsnips have survived being under water. And all the beans are showing as well. So we are OK thank you. Some things won't grow, but lots will.
