Title: Fuschias for indoors
Post by: carrot-cruncher on March 11, 2005, 03:53:33
Does anybody know if it's possible to grow fuschias indoor & if so, which type?

I have a well-lit corner in my dining room, just inside the french doors, which needs a plant to liven it up & feel a nice bright trailing fuschia would do the trick.

Thank you for all suggestions

CC

Hi CC i don't think it is possible to grow fuchsias indoors. They are my favourite plants and i have never had success they seem to get smothered in whitefly and grow rather paleand sad looking, somebody might tell you different so wait and see. But they really belong outdoors sorrrrrrrrrry!! Cheers Rosebud. :D

Hi,
I have to agree sorry, but an artificial one would do the trick you can get some lovely ones in some of  the garden centers from standards to trailing? all different colours.
Or try a spider plant they can look great and flower and have babies?
just an idea.

Someone bought me a fuchsia book awhile back. I intend to have a go at propogation this year. I've grown bush ones outside before but looking in this 'er book there is a list of ones that do better indoors.
Baby Chang; Bambini; Chang; Dollar Princess; Heidi Ann; Leonora; Little Beauty; Little Jewel; Minirose; Nellie Nuttall; Saturnus; Sandboy and Tom West.

Hi Ken  Dollar Princess dose not grow well indoors and neither does Heidi Anne,
i have tried and they just don`t, Fuchsias are not really meant to grow inside, i have a collection of 35 and hope to increase it this year so i have tried many times..  Mike i hope you see this .

I'll pass that info on to the publishers. Fancy telling lies in a book, eh?
