I made the mistake of planting out a dozen tomato plants two weeks ago, when the weather was almost OK, after several weeks of wet weather . . . . only we have had rain every day, almost all day, ever since. The first tomatoes have keeled over, the rest look very miserable indeed. Not necessarily blight, just dying of a wet and broken heart! I went out in the rain to pick some chard at the other end of the veg patch just now, studiously avoiding looking at the remaining tomatoes, then relented and cast them a glance from a distance, thinking that they would otherwise feel even more neglected and miserable. Some were still upright and living . . . . .
At least I have a dozen more, different varieties, in pots under cover. They're not growing at all, but at least they are dry. No improvement in the weather forecast for at least a week.

Maybe a beach umbrella would help ? Must be plenty along the Costas not being used.
We're definitely not in the beach umbrella areas!! No chance! On the northern edge of the Pyrenees you realise why it is so green here compared to the arid Spanish side - there is lots and lots of rain, sudden high winds, and unpredictable storms, But it is utterly beautiful as well, so we don't complain.
Sounds like you are having it really tough there Peanuts, hope the remainder of your toms pull through and the weather improves. Think we could all do with a bit of :sunny:
