Title: Still trying
Post by: autumn leaf on March 10, 2005, 18:20:53
:)  Well, got in a muddle yesterday but think I've worked it out now.  I was usuing photobucket and actually managed to post a couple of photos on A4A but then I deleted the photos from photobucket and that left my posts with little red icons.  Hopefully, this photo of my pond last summer will stay for a while to remind me what's to come - only a few months away really.

Hmm, all I need to know now is how to make the photo a bit bigger and place it in the middle.  Any ideas?

Bigger? Looks great as it is. In my humble opinion, some photos - although lovely to look at - take up too much space & downloading time. One doesn't want to wait minutes to see a string of photos - however good.

Yes - the bigger the more impressive - but.......

^what tim said

we do forget there are still a lot of peeps out there without a fast connection.
when showing pictures directly, try to stay within 80-100kb size wise. you can compress images to within this size and still be left with a sizeable image on screen.
for anything larger file size wise, post the url only - this gives people the choice to click if they want to see it.

having said all that: lovely pond :)

Obvious really if you delete them from the  storage facility they will not be visible here.
Still, to put your picture in the centre of the screen is easy TYPE {center]then paste your link to your storage facility and then TYPE [/center] except that you use the square bracket like the others not the round bracket.

Autumn Leaf
You can in fact RESIZE when in Photobucket, although your picture looks really great !

I prefer to import from my C drive as I know the picture will always be there.
Well done :D

Only way to do that is make a contribution to Dan, he will then allow you to add photo's through additional options. Otherwise you can only send links to published photo's

Waggi, it's very simple.

When you go to "browse", take it to the D drive (your CD Drive I think) and browse on there.  You will find your picture and will be able to upload it.  It's very simple.

Good luck !! :D
