Swallows have arrived ! :blob7: (Mullion Cornwall ) Anyone heard the Cuckoo yet ?
Hi Woodypecks,If you look on the site of Wildlife, at DidI hear right ,its about the Cuckoo :toothy10:
Noticed that the ones that come to my Mum's house every year have not showed up yet . they are usually there by mid April and numbers generally down here. (Northern Ireland)
Anyone else noticing the lack of Swallows ?
None here yet (Torbay) - they know it's too darn cold!

Swallows and House Martins have been here for a couple-few weeks, South West Wales. Cuckoo around the same time too.
Edit spelling
Correction! At 8pm this evening I was in the garden and three swallows (or swifts?) swooped by with their shrill cries. They were too high to identify precisely. Lovely to hear them after the long, miserable winter.

Glad they have arrived :icon_cheers: I love to hear their chatter too

Great stuff.....If they were making shrill cries they are Swifts
I went walkies yesterday and saw my first martins of the year. Think they were sand martins by the estuary [Humber]. Yes the cuckoo arrived a fortnight ago and can quickly do one's head-in :BangHead:
