If you can see it a needle obviously...some you can't see, when you have one of those make a paste up out of Bi Carbonate of Soda tip of a teaspoon and a couple of drops of water....put on a plaster and put on the spot (works for them too)...it will drawn it out in a few hours, though if deep you may have to reapply...it will also kill any bacteria there may be present!
I always keep a tub of sulphate of magnesium in the cupboard for these little nasties. Put it thickly on the splinter and top with a plaster and it will pull out even the deepest splinters.
Maybe we should start a ...On the spot first aid thread...like egg whites for burns etc...
we always use bread soaked in milk in between clean sheet or lint and it will draw it out in two days it also works on boils ,poison, sores it sounds odd but works
Thank you for these hints. I tend to get a bit too vigorous with a needle - clearly there are better ways. :glasses9:
We use a small scalpel to cut out the thorn. It is a lot less painful than digging with a needle. However as I am a total woos sthe sound of a " no dig" is good!
