it's like got v. narrow leaves around 8" long with a central seam, and the white flowers are 6-petalled streaked green in the middle of each one, stamens in the centre are white and yellow pollen.
Dunno how it got introduced in my friend's garden but it's gradually spread over last 4 years.
If it is Wild Garlic, it can be eaten, right?
Irridium, sounds like three-cornered leek. Very edible indeed - we had some tonight in a salad.

Yes, sounds like Allium triquetrum - I had an omelette this evening with lots of it chopped into the egg, with grated cheese. It spreads like measles - I have to keep tearing it out.
oh yum, that sounds great. i can then pick with relish. not sure how long it'll take to exhaust all these plants. there must be about 2 borders worth! do they keep at all? has anyone got recipes that you can preserve/freeze?
It does sound like three cornered leek, but I'd always be a bit cautious about eating something I wasn't completely sure about. Lily of the valley for example is poisonous and could be mistaken for wild garlic (though not easily mistaken for three cornered leek) so I'd just urge caution.

it's definitely of the Allium family as it's v. garlicy/oniony smelling if you brush past them, so that ain't Lily of the Valley !
I think there's a paid option to host images on A4A by my subscription has expired and I don't get that option. I htink you need to get the image somewhere in the internet such as on Flickr, and once it's there you can put a link to it inside the [ img ] ... [ /img ] tags (take out the internal spaces, I have to put them there so you can see the magic tags).
