I saw this (queen) bumble bee and a small tortoiseshell butterfly on the plot today.

Yes indeed, here too.  Just spotted the first Peacock butterfly!  Sorry no camera to hand.

Your picture is super Flightly - really lifts the spirits!  At last some signs of spring  :sunny:

Hi Flighty I saw 3red admiral's and a big bumble bee is in my wee greenhouse, I did try to put it out but failed :BangHead: will try in the morning :wave:

Only butterfly of the year, a single Brimstone on April 1st (no joking). regrettably not seen since.
3 bumble bees on seperate days in different places. Wonder who will do the pollinating this year, if anything actually flowers?

Several more brimstones seen today. There are swallows, house and sandmartins, and a cuckoo reported on the local Twitchers report,* not yet veiwed up here near M 3 -Junction 5
