Title: Oh eck..I have a cabbage problem..help
Post by: Jeannine on April 02, 2013, 06:16:34
Last year I started several sprouting broccs, some Nine Star brocc, some Daubenton  some Delaway and some Euawig Moes( probably wrong spelling). Of course we always think we will remember where is what but guess what.................

I know exactly which is the Daubenton as it was put in a raised bed all by itself but....there is 1 plant that looks different.  OK so I will presume this was a stray seed..

The Nine Star  florets should be white but so far I only have had purple broccs, however I could just wait and see on that one I guess.

The Euawig and the Delaway  were separate from the Daubenton but not from each other and they were close to the purple sprouting brocs. I do have two lots of plants, that are clearly not purple sprouted broccoli and look very different from each other. One is very tall it looks like  a  little palm tree and the leaves are sort of Sorrel shaped. The other plant is quite short, darker green and almost kale like.

I cannot find any pictures of Delaway.

Is there anyone out there who can throw any light on them for me.. I would be most grateful

Oh and I have snacked on them raw,the Daubenton is the best and the Sorrel shaped one is the least tasty, and it is a paler green than the others.
