It's all about making stuff that can be intensively farmed for supermarkets, apart from Sungold and brussel sprouts of course. What, you mean there's another kind of F1?! :tongue3:
They should market F1 as a cure for insomnia. I can only just get into a race for 10 minutes then the snoring starts. I usually wake up an hour or two later to find that my missus has taken advantage of me taking a nap and she is halfway through the little house on the prairie before I realise something is amiss and I switch back over to see the winners spraying champagne everywhere.

:toothy10: Funny! And true!
Looks like some peeps are getting this post crossed with an F1 seed...
The OP was about motorcar F1 racing...

Yea, I think all the F1s are now hybrids.
What I do not understand is why telling a driver to let someone else win is not considered match fixing?
Certainly racing cars might be better if they ran methane from sprouts.
Hi Digeroo
The rules were changed to allow team orders to be acceptable. I can't remember when.
At the time that Red bull made the order the mercedes team had already issued a warning to Hamilton and Rosberg to fuel save (Hamilton) and hold station ( Rosberg).
So it was always going to be a red bull one two.
The teams were also trying to save their engines and gear boxes. Red Bull also had a problem with tyre wear and did not know whether the extra racing would cause the tyres to go off and the team have to bring both cars into the pits for a tyre change. Had that been required then Mercedes would have won first and second as the pit change would have taken up too much time.
There is a penalty for needing more than 8 engines for a season and gear boxes have to last for five consequtive races. So the teams have to run in engine save mode so that each engine will run about two or three races a season. Mark Webber had followed team orders and turned down his engine so that it would not go to maximum revs. Seb decided that he needed the win and also put extra strain on his engine and gearbox. That means that it could "pop" in the next race that it is used. So he ends up with Nil points. Each team has a schedule for engine usage as some tracks put more strain on the engine than other tracks. Not sure whether the engines will have to run another race but eight engines will not last the season if only used for two races some have to cover three. So it is a case of changing engines when required not when needed otherwise there will be a penalty on the starting grid.
So each race is only a part of the battle. The rules of F1 are pro the whole battle and not each separate part. There were other teams that dropped clangers, Ferrari (Alonso) probably being the biggest when they proved that without front wheels touching the race surface you can't steer. Min d you some teams proved that without nuts you can't travel. One driver proved that they can't fit GPS into the cars because he went to the wrong garage. But it is all good fun.
If only our weather had the same type of rules. then we would at least have a bit of certainty as to when we could sow our seeds and obtain maximum germination. Anyway we all know that the allotment year is a battle and nature changes the rules every week. I think I need more than eight engines.
Enjoy your gardening

Bill
