Title: Chitting Oca
Post by: cestrian on March 23, 2013, 20:13:06
i've got some Oca chitting on the window sill and the chits look like they are about to start flowering. There's 12" of snow in the back garden so there's no chance of planting them out. Should I rub the chits off as suggested in the spud chitting thread?

Flowering??? ..are you sure? ...newly emerging leaves can look like flower buds, but the actual flowers/bud are tiny and not easily seen.
Are you able to pot the oca up into 3" pots ..you could 'drop' them in quite deep and they'll root along the stems..giving you much stronger plants and more time to deal with them.

Yes, just put them in some pots and they will be happy for weeks to come. I agree that they are unlikely to be flowering. If they are, you have something special!

Thanks for the advice I'll get them potted up!
