We will be having our fundraising plant/bric-a-brac/cake stall sometime in June. Thinking this year I would make decorated cupcakes. With fondant flowers, sprinkles, butterflies etc. How much are the public willing to pay for each one? This also depends how elaborate I decorate them too.
Any advice on which cakes, large or small always sell well at these events is greatly appreciated. Many Thanks
Hi. The going rate here at fetes etc is
Decorated cupcakes - decent size 60p. A friend went to an upmarket event and charged £1 each and she came back with half of them!
1lb loaf tin eg lemon drizzle, coffee, chocolate, carrot, sticky toffee, orange and sultana from £2.60 to £2.85 depending on ingredients
6" round, sponge, coffee and walnut, chocolate, vanilla. etc £3.25
7" round £ 3.75
8" round £4.25
Hope this helps. I suppose it depends on where you are selling and who your customers are, Children(school fetes)adults?

It's in the old church right in the center of town. So mostly adults. Thanks for the pricing tips
I was going to do a similer thing at a car boot fair ,I bought cupcake pods and would have asked £1-10p a good size one and nice toppings kids love them in the pods and are easy to carry .good luck at your sale.
Our choir does weekly bring-and-buy stalls to raise funds to pay the orchestra that plays with us at our concerts. I am careful not to overprice things so that I need not carry them home again. Eg small loaf of homemade bread £1.50 (used to be £1 but it always vanishes); small pot of marmalade or jam or jelly £1.50 (again, £1 but someone else who sells his marmalade insisted on adding 50p to mine, and most was sold).
Chicken pies (small, possibly 2 light eaters or one greedy one, home made pastry) £2, all go. Small bundles of leeks, garlic, spinach beet and similar 50p or £1 depending on size and rarity....I am concerned not to struggle with change! Elephant garlic 50p per segment (very cheap compared to commercial sites).
I only offer things I could take home and freeze or store so that there is no loss. Can you freeze iced cupcakes?
